BBC Southern Counties Radio Producer

Gurinda Barar pressed BBC Southern Counties Radio for work experience after completing her Undergraduate Degree at Surrey Institute of Art in 2000. A vacancy as morning receptionist came up and Gurinda applied - although it wasn't what she really wanted to do - it was a foot in the door.
She carried on - working the odd shift on the afternoon magazine programme and was eventually offered the role of Broadcast Assistant, operating studio equipment.
In 2003, she was offered the role of producer of the mid-morning show, responsible for all aspects of the programme.
