Broadcast Journcalism Training Council

Quick Navigation

Here we've brought together a wide range of learning materials which you can read or download and keep - it's all essential reading for a broadcast journalist - you'll come across the kinds of issues raised in these documents every day of your working life.

You'll find they're under five headings - Media Law, Politics and Government, how to report difficult stories sensitively, a section on Impartiality and another on Journalism and Trauma. You won't find quite a lot of this material anywhere else and again it's all essential knowledge.

He has a very particular view of life, the law, journalism and students and we’re very grateful that he’s agreed to share his bread and butter. There are five sets of PowerPoint presentations on various aspects of the law and journalism - yuo need to know them all. This first one and the next,  focus on defamation.
