City University to receive three bursaries for students with knowledge of diverse communities.

Channel 4 has announced they're funding three bursaries, worth £14,000 each for the Postgraduate Diploma course in TV Journalism at City University in London.

They're aimed at applicants to the course for the academic year 2010-2011 who have knowledge of the Pakistani, Bangladeshi or African-Caribbean communities.

The buraries will cover academic fees and living expenses and in addition C4 are offering three months' practical work experience to the successful applicants.

C4 says "Words are powerful. People believe those headlines, those news reports. It's time for more balance - and for the nation's journalists to better reflect Britain's multi-cultural society. Our commitment to diversity doesn't end with our programming."
